Laboratory

Yuma District Hospital Laboratory Services employs highly skilled board certified medical laboratory science professionals who discover the presence or absence of disease. Medical laboratory science professionals are vital healthcare detectives, uncovering and providing laboratory information from clinical analyses that assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment. They use sophisticated biomedical instrumentation and technology, computers, and methods requiring manual dexterity to perform laboratory testing on blood and body fluids.

Quality is central to the delivery of all laboratory services and is achieved through the incorporation of quality systems, quality control and quality assurance in all aspects of laboratory medicine. A range of quality standards and accreditation systems are used by Yuma District Hospital to ensure we deliver the highest quality of laboratory and pathology services to our patients. Yuma District Hospital Laboratory is a CLIA accredited laboratory. The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulate laboratory testing in the United States and require clinical laboratories to be certificated by their state as well as the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) before they can accept human samples for diagnostic testing. Patients First is our reason for being and the focus of all of our services. Our responsibility is to provide the best possible care and outcome for every patient. We strive to exceed our patients’ expectations for high-quality care.
