Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is used in circumstances where the process of aging, injury or disease threatens movement and function. The program will begin with assessment of physical problems, and then assist patient and family with appropriate interventions that may include: electro-therapeutic and mechanical agents, functional training, gait training, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, dry needling, instructions and education so that maximal functional movement is attained. Physical therapy also includes instruction and information on prevention of injury and maintenance of strength and mobility.

Aquatic therapy is physical therapy performed in the on-site warm water pool. This beneficial therapy is useful in treating a variety of medical conditions. Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties of warm water to assist in healing and exercise performance. It is especially useful for patients with arthritis, healing fractures and most orthopedic problems. The warmth of the water will also assist in relaxing muscles and vasodilates vessels, increasing blood flow to injured areas. It is often the treatment of choice for people suffering from fibromyalgia, muscle spasms and back pain.
