Dr. Caitlin Ahern brings over 25 years of medical experience to the community, with a diverse background that enhances her approach to family medicine. After completing her residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine in 1996, Dr. Ahern began her career serving the Yuma community at Yuma Hospital from 1996 to 2002.
Her professional journey continued with family practice and urgent care work in Fort Collins before she joined the Akron Clinic in 2006, where she has been providing care to local residents for over 15 years. This blend of rural and urban medical experience gives her a unique perspective on patient care.
Dr. Ahern holds certification as a Medical Director in nursing home care (CMD), allowing her to provide specialized oversight for long-term care facilities. She is also an advanced practitioner in hormone replacement therapy, offering personalized treatment options for patients experiencing hormonal changes.
As a long-time healthcare provider in Northeast Colorado, Dr. Ahern understands the unique needs of rural communities and is committed to delivering comprehensive, accessible medical care close to home.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Ahern enjoys cooking for extended family events, hiking, reading, gardening, and yoga. She is married and has two grown children.
