About
Dr. Jack Westfall is a Yuma native who brings over 30 years of experience as a family physician to his hometown practice. After completing his education at Sterling College and the University of Kansas School of Medicine (where he also earned a master’s in public health), Dr. Westfall dedicated his career to advancing rural healthcare through clinical practice, research, and policy development.
As the founder of the High Plains Research Network in 1997, Dr. Westfall has been instrumental in bringing community voices into healthcare research and practice throughout eastern Colorado. His innovative “Boot Camp Translation” method has helped make complex medical information accessible to rural communities, while his extensive research portfolio includes over 100 published articles on family medicine and community health.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Westfall has served in numerous leadership roles, including Associate Dean of Rural Health for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and has practiced in rural communities including Limon, Fort Morgan, and Yuma. After working in health policy in Washington, DC, Dr. Westfall has returned to his roots in Yuma, where he provides compassionate, comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Westfall enjoys fishing, gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors in the Colorado landscape he loves.
