Dr. Michelle Disher brings specialized training in both family and emergency medicine to Yuma Hospital. After earning her Doctor of Medicine and master’s in public health from Case Western Reserve University, where she received the Lawrence R. and Martha John, MD Award in Primary Care, Dr. Disher completed her family medicine residency at North Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley. During residency, she served as Academic Chief and participated in both Global Health and Advanced Maternal Care tracks.
Dr. Disher recently completed her Emergency Medicine Fellowship at St. Anthony North in Denver, further enhancing her skills in urgent and emergency care. She is fluent in Spanish and has a particular interest in women’s health services.
As a physician, Dr. Disher values the personal connections that come with practicing medicine in a small-town setting. She believes that getting to know patients and their families is one of the most rewarding aspects of healthcare, especially in communities like Yuma where patients are often neighbors and friends.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Disher enjoys gardening (especially growing and canning tomatoes), traveling, outdoor adventures, and creative pursuits like cooking and painting. She values building lasting relationships with patients and becoming an active member of the Yuma community.
