Dr. Matthew Nowland graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1999 and completed his residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency in 2002. He has practiced full-spectrum family medicine for over two decades, with a focused emphasis on emergency, trauma, and inpatient care during the past three years.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Nowland has served as both Trauma Medical Director and Emergency Room Director at YDH. His commitment to healthcare extends beyond his local practice through his role as medical director of a non-profit mission organization, where he has led multiple international medical mission teams over the past two decades.
Raised in a close-knit farming community in rural Missouri, Dr. Nowland developed a deep appreciation for community values and the importance of hard work. For the past 23 years, he has been privileged to serve the people of Yuma, Colorado. The unique challenges of rural
medicine energize him, and he finds immense satisfaction in providing comprehensive care to the entire region. Dr. Nowland enjoys travel, hiking, and fishing. He values spending time with his wife and four children and takes pleasure in supporting their various sports and activities.
