Anne Kreutzer
Chief Executive Officer
Education:
MS, Kansas State University
Career Experience:
I started working at the front desk of my hometown hospital in Leavenworth, KS, soon after high school. A thirst for adventure led to progressively greater responsibilities and locations as diverse as California, Texas and Alaska. I spent 25 years improving care for Veterans in the VA health system and then worked for 10 years in the private sector as a hospital executive before coming to Yuma in 2024.
Connection to Rural Healthcare or the Local Community:
I spent many a Thanksgiving and summer vacation visiting relatives in Wray, CO. Great days walking downtown to shop at Leigh Floral, swimming with my niece and nephews at the Aquatic Center or taking them all out to 4th and Main for dinner. I loved the way the community embraced my sister and her family and knew that Yuma would do the same for me.
Personal Statement (Why you do what you do):
I love the complexity of health care. It is never boring. There is always a problem to be solved, and I love to dive right in and figure out these intensely complicated puzzles. In the end, when we’ve figured something out, it matters. It means that someone’s life got easier, healthier, or better in some way. That is a very satisfying feeling.
Personal Life and Interests:
A very long time ago I married my high school sweetheart, and he makes me laugh every day, so I keep him around. My three kids were very expensive, so I kicked them out of the house – but not before raising them to be kind, compassionate and productive adults. They left the cat behind, which I find rather disappointing. I like to garden – but only in nice weather. I paint badly and quickly destroy the evidence and compose opening lines to the chapters of the book I’ll never write.

With 25 years of experience in healthcare, I began my career in Human Resources, where I worked in all aspects of workforce management before advancing to executive leadership roles overseeing healthcare and housing development systems.
I also proudly served in the United States Navy.
Connection to Rural Healthcare or the Local Community:
Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience working in both rural and urban healthcare environments, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within diverse healthcare settings.
Personal Statement (Why you do what you do):
What I enjoy most about what I do is being a servant leader. Helping others accomplish their dreams and providing services is the best way to give back.
Personal Life and Interests:
When not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, running long-distance races, relaxing at any beach I can find, and watching sporting events.
