Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Are you constantly waking up or can’t seem to settle your body? It may be time to determine if you have a sleep disorder. Sleep studies measure how well you sleep and how your body responds to sleep problems.

Sleep studies can help diagnose:

  • Breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea
  • Seizure disorders
  • Movement disorders, such as periodic limb movement disorder that occurs during sleep
  • Narcolepsy
  • Restless legs syndrome(RLS) when needed

Studies include simultaneous computer recordings of EEG, EOG and chin EMG for sleep analysis, ECG for rhythm analysis, leg EMG for Periodic Leg Movement analysis, nasal/oral airflow, abdominal and thoracic effort, snoring microphone, oximetry and body position sensor for nocturnal breathing analysis.

Sleep studies are completed upon doctor referral, and a treatment plan is developed to provide solutions. Sleep studies are conducted by respiratory therapists and sleep technologists. They are offered by appointment and can require an overnight stay.
